Conde Roofing & Construction recently completed a roof replacement for the Wilton Police Department, helping ensure the facility has a durable, weather-ready roofing system built to protect it for years to come.
The Wilton Police Department building is a classic New England municipal structure with solid brick construction, a complex hip roof design, and multiple slopes. Although the existing asphalt shingle roof was still in generally fair condition, it had reached the point where replacement made sense as a proactive investment rather than waiting for leaks or more serious structural issues to appear.
Several areas of the roof showed dark streaking and discoloration. These black streaks are typically caused by roof algae which often develops on areas that receive less sunlight, especially north-facing roof slopes. This type of staining does not usually damage asphalt shingles or cause leaks at an earlier stage, though it can make a roof look older than it really is. Aside from the cosmetic staining the roof showed very little lichen growth and minimal structural wear, making it ideal for preventative replacement.

That commitment was recently recognized during a Life-Saving Award ceremony at Wilton Town Hall, where first responders were honored for their coordinated response to an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in October 2025.
Responders from multiple agencies, including Wilton Ambulance Service, Wilton Fire Department, Wilton Police Department, Milford Area Communications Center, and New Hampshire 911, worked together during the emergency to help save a patient’s life.
